Magdalena Cichon
Magdalena Cichon, 1987 in Jena geboren, studierte von 2007 bis 2014 in der Klasse Malerei/Textile Künste an der Burg Giebichenstein, Kunsthochschule Halle und schloss das Studium mit Auszeichnung ab. Seit 2011 ist sie mit Galeriekooperationen, Ausstellungen und Messebeteiligungen im Kunstbetrieb aktiv und derzeit bei Galerien in New York, Jena, Beijing und Berlin unter Vertrag. Ihre Malerei zeichnet sich durch eine sorgsame Balance realistischer Figürlichkeit mit abstrakten Zufallsspuren aus. Immer wieder wird die Eigenschaft des Bildes als dreidimensionales Objekt durch den Einsatz von textilen Elementen betont.
Magdalena Cichon begreift malerische Ausdrucksformen als Repräsentationen verschiedener Wirklichkeitsebenen. So kombiniert sie bewusst immer mehrere Abstraktionsgrade – von Zufallsspuren über skizzenhafte Ornamente bis manieristisch ausformulierte Figuration – ohne einer eindeutigen Positionierung Raum zu geben.
